The momentum system is designed to encourage players to do everything they can within reason to keep the
battle moving towards its conclusion. While using defensive moves is fine, a battle should naturally have a
balance between periods of offense and periods of defense.
Using offensive abilities and actions increases your momentum, and using defensive abilities or actions (such
as running away repeatedly) will lower your momentum. If you use more defensive abilities than offensive, your momentum
will drop down to the orange or red thresholds, and your stamina and spirit energy will be drained each turn.
Some extra notes:
Green and yellow: no extra pool drain
Orange: 2% of max pools per turn
Red: 8.5% of max pools per turn
Standardized treatment of different effects used out of range:
Any non-defensive attack/AoE used out of range/width/in wrong direction will be considered neutral.
If it is lower rank than the user or is a default ability, it will be considered somewhat defensive.
